BOISE, Idaho (AP) - Officials with the Idaho State Police say the officer in charge of the Bureau of Criminal Identification has been placed on administrative leave after being arrested on suspicion of drunken driving.

ISP spokeswoman Teresa Baker emailed a statement Thursday morning about Major Clark Rollins’ arrest.

Baker said the Meridian Police Department arrested Rollins Wednesday evening on charges of driving under the influence and unlawful transportation of an alcoholic beverage, both misdemeanors.

The arrest came after Rollins was pulled over for a traffic stop.

The Idaho State Police is also investigating whether Rollins violated the agency’s policies.

Baker says the ISP demands the highest professional conduct from officers both on and off duty.
