INMAN, S.C. (AP) - An Inman couple has been charged with child neglect after two of their six children were found in a chained room inside their filthy home.

Media outlets report Wednesday deputies were called to accompany social services officials to the home because of previous interactions with Roger Cox. There, deputies found twin 2-year-old boys wearing dirty diapers inside a room locked with a chain.

Deputies said the home was littered with trash, food and roaches.

Authorities say the couple has six children, some of whom said they had not been bathed in weeks. The children were placed in emergency protective custody.

Cox and the children’s mother, Crystal Case, were each charged with six counts of child neglect. They were jailed on $12,000 bond, and it wasn’t known if they had attorneys.
