INDIO, Calif. (AP) - The Riverside County Fire Department says 15 people were displaced by a fire that damaged an apartment building in Indio.

The residents lived in seven units of the Andorra Apartments, which caught fire Wednesday afternoon.

The first engine company on the scene reported smoke visible at the back of the building and more units were dispatched.

No injuries were reported. The American Red Cross opened an evacuation center at the Indio High School for the displaced residents.
