SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (AP) - A South Dakota lawmaker who formed a group to back potential presidential candidate Jeb Bush is being joined by some top state legislators.

Sioux Falls Republican Rep. Steve Westra says Senate Majority Leader Tim Rave and seven others have signed on to his volunteer group.

Westra says he has gathered hundreds of names, and his was the first group in the nation to urge Bush to run.

The former Florida governor has not declared that he’s going to run but is expected to announce in the coming weeks his candidacy for the 2016 Republican presidential nomination.
