MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) - The chief of staff for Vermont Gov. Peter Shumlin is going to be leaving her post at the end of the legislative session.

Shumlin says that Liz Miller will be leaving state government.

Miller will be replaced by Darren Springer, currently the deputy commissioner of the Department of Public Service.

Before becoming chief of staff, Miller had previously served as Public Service commissioner.

Shumlin says Miller “has been an amazing chief of staff.”

And Shumlin says Springer has a proven record of getting tough tasks done.
