TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) - The Toledo Zoo is ready to show off its updated aquarium after a multiyear $25 million renovation.

The zoo, one of only ten nationwide that operates both a zoo and on-grounds aquarium, planned to open the new facility Friday.

The Toledo Blade (https://bit.ly/19TiV9q ) reports the centerpiece is the new Pacific Reef exhibit, holding 90,000 gallons, compared with only 7,600 gallons for the largest single tank before the renovation.

The exhibit has two-story viewing window and interior landscape of colorful coral and fish.

The zoo also has increased the size of its saltwater exhibits, going from a previous 37 percent of tank space to 87 percent in the new configuration.

Among new features are several tanks where visitors can touch animals from small sharks and rays to sea stars.
