CHALMETTE, La. (AP) - A St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s detective has resigned following his arrest in an incident in which officials said he attacked his wife and an Orleans Parish Sheriff’s deputy Saturday night at a hotel in New Orleans.

Nola.comThe Times-Picayune reports (https://bit.ly/1BRzKxA ) that 42-year-old Sgt. Paul Miller was booked Sunday on charges of domestic abuse battery, simple battery, battery of a police officer and public intimidation. His bond was set at $20,000.

Sheriff’s office spokesman Steve Cannizaro said St. Bernard Sheriff Jimmy Pohlman suspended Miller after the arrest, and Miller resigned Tuesday afternoon while under internal investigation.
