SEATTLE (AP) - A trial begins Tuesday to determine whether a man convicted of killing six members of Carnation, Washington, family should be sentenced to death or life in prison.

Joseph McEnroe was convicted last week of six counts of aggravated first-degree murder.

The Seattle Times reports (https://is.gd/laomHP) that the 36-year-old is expected to testify during the penalty phase of his trial.

Prosecutors say McEnroe and his former girlfriend, Michele Anderson, shot and killed six members of Anderson’s family on Christmas Eve 2007.
