DEADWOOD, S.D. (AP) - The city of Deadwood is moving forward on a $7 million visitor center project.

The center would house the Chamber of Commerce and community meeting rooms. The project also calls for a trolley system, a pedestrian bridge across Whitewood Creek leading to Whitewood Creek Trail, and sidewalk and landscaping work.

Work is to be done in three phases. The Black Hills Pioneer reports (https://bit.ly/1HeNT65 ) that city commissioners recently approved designs for the first two phases and authorized architectural and engineering work.
