ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) - A 23-year-old Acoma Pueblo man awaits sentencing after pleading guilty to killing another man by striking him in the head with a 10-pound weight during a scuffle after they and other people had been drinking.

Arthur L. Garcia pleaded guilty Friday in federal court in Albuquerque to voluntary manslaughter in the May 8 killing.

Court documents identify the 33-year-old victim only as either “John Doe” or by the initials “E.H.”

The U.S. Attorney’s Office said Garcia faces up to 15 years in prison when sentenced. His sentencing hasn’t been scheduled.
