NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - Center Damian Jones says he is returning to Vanderbilt for his junior season after consulting with his family and Commodores coach Kevin Stallings.

Jones announced his decision Monday.

He led Vanderbilt scoring 14.5 points and grabbing 6.5 rebounds per game this season. Jones says he is extremely excited about the Commodores, who add four players in a class rated No. 21 nationally by ESPN.com.

Stallings says they are thrilled Jones is coming back for his junior year and that he thinks the center has the potential to be one of the nation’s top big men next season.

Vanderbilt went 21-14 this season and lost in the NIT quarterfinals last week at Stanford.
