INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department has made a break in a 6-year-old homicide case with the arrest of two suspects.

Brandon Robinson and Antonio Mitzs, both 25, were arrested last week on preliminary murder charges in the April 6, 2009, slaying of Lamont Wright. The 27-year-old was found dead in the yard of a home with multiple gunshot wounds.

The police department says homicide investigators were able to make the arrests after a witness came forward with more information.

WXIN-TV reports the witness told police that the men shot Wright, who had been dating Robinson’s mother, as he left her home following a breakup.

Both Robinson and Mitzs are being held at the Marion County Jail. It wasn’t immediately clear if they have attorneys.
