PORTLAND, Maine (AP) - Federal prosecutors say a Biddeford, Maine, man is being sentenced to 15 years in prison for serving as the getaway driver during a 2013 dollar store robbery.

U.S. Attorney Thomas E. Delahanty says 26-year-old Walter Heathcote was also sentenced to five years of supervised release for charges of interfering with commerce by robbery and possession of a firearm by a felon. He pleaded guilty in December.

Court records say Heathcote was the driver for Charles Reed III and Ryan Forrest, who robbed the Family Dollar Store in Biddeford at gunpoint in December 2013. Delahanty says Heathcote’s sentence is enhanced because of prior convictions.
