BROOKHAVEN, Miss. (AP) - A Brookhaven man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to manslaughter in a 2013 fatal shooting.

The Daily Leader reports (https://bit.ly/1ywhrY2 ) that 36-year-old Jerrod Tashod Doss entered the plea Tuesday before Lincoln County Circuit Judge David Strong.

Doss has been indicted for murder in the death of 26-year-old Cornelius D. Porter.

Authorities say Porter’s burned body was found Oct. 30, 2013, on a Brookhaven street. Authorities say Porter had been in the head and chest and his body was left in a secluded area.

Doss was arrested Nov. 19, 2013, in Ridgecrest, Louisiana, by Concordia Parish sheriff’s deputies.
