LAS VEGAS (AP) - A national campaign to raise the minimum wage will take its next demonstrations to college campuses, including UNLV and the College of Southern Nevada.

Labor organizers announced on Monday that a series of protests, strikes and rallies are planned for April 15 in cities across the country and abroad.

The Progressive Leadership Alliance of Nevada said workers from low-wage industries including fast food, retail and home health care will walk off the job in support of a $15 minimum wage.

A PLAN spokeswoman also said adjunct professors and students are joining the campaign to support income equality, saying the new alliance shows the issue is not just about teenagers working in fast food.

The campaign will rally that night at UNLV and the College of Southern Nevada.
