RIVERTON, Wyo. (AP) - A food bank that serves people in need in the Riverton area is closing for an unknown amount of time while one of the people who run it seeks cancer treatment.

The Riverton Community Food Bank serves about 1,500 people a year.

Food bank managers Lloyd and Nancy Eckstein will be in Denver while Nancy Eckstein seeks cancer treatment. The Casper Star-Tribune reports (https://bit.ly/1BIOIzz ) they don’t know when they will be able to return.

The couple distributes about 30,000 pounds of frozen, fresh and canned food a year.
