CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - Warm temperatures and strong wind are raising the risk of wildfires.

The National Weather Service has issued a red flag warning for eastern and central Wyoming including Cheyenne, Casper, Laramie, Riverton, Gillette and Sheridan.

High temperatures statewide Tuesday will be in the 70s and gusts could reach 40 mph.

That’s on top of unusually dry weather so far this spring. Conditions are ripe for wildfires, including several small fires in Sheridan County over the weekend.

The Weather Service says a cold front will bring cooler temperatures, rain and snow Wednesday through Friday.
