ELGIN, Okla. (AP) - The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says westbound lanes of Interstate 44 at the Elgin exit just north of Lawton have reopened after being closed for nearly three hours because of automobile crashes in foggy conditions.

The interstate - also known as the H.E. Bailey Turnpike - was closed after the first crash shortly before 6 a.m. The second occurred just after 6:30 a.m. and the third was before 8 a.m.

The interstate reopened just before 9 a.m.
