GREENVILLE, N.Y. (AP) - Ten people suffered minor injuries in a series of crashes involving 23 vehicles on an icy, foggy stretch of Interstate 84 near the Pennsylvania border.

State police say six vehicles crashed at about 7:15 a.m. Wednesday after a commercial vehicle driver hit his brakes and slid into the right guide rail. Four more multi-vehicle crashes followed in the westbound lanes, including one involving a state plow truck.

Police say injured drivers and passengers were taken to two local hospitals.

The crashes occurred in an inactive work zone with a reduced speed limit of 55 mph.
