LANCASTER, Calif. (AP) - Four sex abuse victims have filed a lawsuit claiming a national soccer club failed to protect children from a Southern California coach who was convicted of molesting 14 boys and a girl.

The Los Angeles Times reported Tuesday (https://lat.ms/1zYmYXH) that the suit accuses the American Youth Soccer Organization of taking no action after a volunteer raised concerns about Renoir Vincent Valenti.

The 55-year-old former coach was sentenced last April to 130 years to life in state prison. He was found guilty of 20 counts involving 15 victims ages 8 to 12 years old.

Valenti was a coach in Lancaster for the AYSO, a nonprofit with thousands of teams nationwide.

The suit seeks unspecified damages.

A spokeswoman says the organization does not comment on pending litigation.
