BETHEL, Alaska (AP) - Calista (Cha-LIS’-tuh) Corp. officials say shareholders are receiving a record dividend.

Bethel radio station KYUK (https://is.gd/LLswfX) reports the dividend totals just over $5 million.

The individual dividend amount is $3.80 per share. For the average shareholder with 100 shares, that works out to a $380 payout.

Calista is the Alaska Native corporation for the Bethel region. The corporation currently has nearly 13,000 shareholders.

According to Calista, the dividend checks are expected to be mailed out by mid-April.

Over the past eight years, Calista has issued dividends 11 times. Altogether, the payouts have totaled $31.3 million.
