INDIANFIELDS TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Authorities say icy roads are to blame for a three-vehicle crash in Michigan’s rural Thumb region that killed a 32-year-old woman.

WNEM-TV reports the crash happened Tuesday afternoon in Tuscola County’s Indianfields Township. It’s just south of Caro and about 80 miles north of Detroit.

Authorities say the crash killed Tammy L. Shonk of Mayville and injured another driver.

Sleet and snow made driving hazardous in much of lower Michigan on Tuesday, leading to many crashes. Numerous accidents were reported by authorities in Genesee, Ingham and Washtenaw counties.

WNEM-TV says that an 80-year-old Saginaw County woman died from exposure. It says that sheriff’s deputies found the body of Maxine Kretz on Saturday near her stuck car in Albee Township on Saturday.

The Thomas Township woman was reported missing Feb. 27.
