SOMERSET, Pa. (AP) - An autopsy shows a volunteer firefighter died from severe coronary artery disease and that fighting a garage fire in November was only a contributing factor.

The (Somerset) Daily American (https://bit.ly/1EgAKLK) says the autopsy results announced Tuesday may determine whether the property owner will face additional charges in the fire.

That woman, 45-year-old Kerri O’Baker, on Tuesday waived her right to a preliminary hearing on arson and related charges stemming from the Nov. 5 fire on her property. She’s told police she and her juvenile son were burning trash and that a miscommunication led to the fire being left unattended before it also burned the garage and a fence.

Forty-eight-year-old Somerset volunteer firefighter Edward Roddy collapsed while fighting the blaze before he died Feb. 22 at a Pittsburgh hospital.

O’Baker’s defense attorney didn’t immediately return a call.
