CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - The planned renovation and expansion of the State Capitol and adjacent Herschler Building is moving forward.

The Capitol Building Restoration Oversight Group on Tuesday authorized various contracts and agreements related to construction work and leasing temporary office space for state elected officials and workers.

The project’s cost is still not determined but is estimated at around $290 million.

Gov. Matt Mead, who is a member of the oversight group, says there are risks in moving ahead with the project without firm cost figures.

But he says there are also risks in delaying the project, which will take about three years to complete.
