EUGENE, Ore. (AP) - A chaperone on an overnight Willamette High School chess club field trip from Eugene to Portland says he was asked to share a motel bed with a student.

After he complained, he was moved to a room with the coach.

Bethel School District spokesman Pat McGillivray tells KEZI (https://bit.ly/1zY6uiv) the parent was not asked to share a bed but to share a room with three students. McGillivray says it’s won’t happen again.

The man’s son was in a room with another chaperone Feb. 27 and shared a bed with another student.
