PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - The day after former House Speaker Gordon Fox pleaded guilty to bribery, the board of licenses for Providence is not ready to revoke the liquor license of Shark Sushi Bar & Grill.

Prosecutors say the bar paid Fox $52,500 in 2008 for help obtaining a license. Fox was the vice chairman of the board at the time.

The bar was not on the board’s docket for its Wednesday meeting.

Providence Mayor Jorge Elorza has said his administration is investigating whether the bar’s license can be legally revoked.

One of the bar’s owners, Raymond Hugh, told The Associated Press on Tuesday that he didn’t know his bar was involved in the case.

WPRI-TV reports board chairwoman Johanna Harris said they would need “more concrete information” before moving to revoke the license.
