BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - A man shot to death in an East Baton Rouge Parish home had been sentenced to ten years in prison for a guilty plea to conspiracy charges surrounding a murder and armed robbery.

Thirty-one-year-old Jermoid Wheeler was killed Tuesday morning. Detectives say the owner of the home shot Wheeler after Wheeler entered the home without permission.

Authorities spent much of the day questioning a woman with Wheeler, later identified as his wife, 36-year-old Deneatrice Cage-Wheeler. The Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday night she was booked with aggravated burglary and other charges.

WBRZ-TV (https://bit.ly/1wHpnKO) reports that court records show Jermoid Wheeler pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit second-degree murder and conspiracy to commit armed robbery in a 2004 shooting death and was sentenced to 10 years.
