KENNEWICK, Wash. (AP) - The Kennewick City Council voted Tuesday night to authorize a regional 911 dispatch center for the Tri-Cities.

KVEW reports (https://bit.ly/18Oos0t ) the Kennewick council was the final one needed to consolidate the Benton County and Franklin County dispatch centers into one, to be called MATRICS.

Tri-Cities police could be working off the same radio frequency as soon as January.
