SEATTLE (AP) - Northwest residents may think spring has arrived early as sunshine and high temperatures nearing 60 are forecast through the weekend.

The National Weather Service says a high pressure ridge will dominate most of the region, keeping things dry.

High temperatures will be above normal. Nighttime lows east of the Cascades will be in the 30s or below freezing in places.

Forecasters say the next chance of rain or mountain snow will be in the middle of next week.
