NEW IBERIA, La. (AP) - Iberia Parish sheriff’s deputies say a St. Martinville teenager is accused of shooting his father in the leg during an argument.
Maj. Ryan Turner, sheriff’s office spokesman, tells The Advocate (https://bit.ly/1GRB69T ) 18-year-old Kenneth Broussard Jr. was booked into Iberia Parish jail Monday on one count each of attempted second-degree murder and illegal possession of stolen firearms.
Turner says deputies began investigating the shooting after Broussard’s father went to a hospital to treat the bullet wound.
Broussard remained in jail without bond.
Jail officials couldn’t provide the name of a defense attorney to comment on the charges.
