NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - The National Weather Service’s Storm Prediction Center says a winter storm with a mixture of freezing rain, sleet and snow has moved into Oklahoma and the Oklahoma Highway Patrol is reporting slick roadways in much of the state.

Slick and hazardous roads are reported generally north and west of Interstate 44 on Wednesday, which runs from southwestern to northeastern Oklahoma. Roads south and east of I-44 are reported as generally slick in spots.

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation says crews are deployed statewide to plow and treat roadways.

The Storm Prediction Center said freezing rain would change quickly to sleet, then transition to snow by late Wednesday afternoon.
