SAN ANTONIO (AP) - Nazareth used a dominant first half to roll past cold-shooting D’Hanis 61-18 Thursday in the Class 1A girls’ state semifinals.

Sophomore Allie Schulte scored nine points the first quarter as Nazareth bolted to a 17-1 lead. D’Hanis was just 7 of 45 shooting for the game and Nazareth led 25-3 by halftime.

Schulte finished with 13 points for defending state champion Nazareth (33-2), which has won 19 state titles. Hannah Leavitt added 10 points for the Swiftettes. Nazareth scored 22 points off 18 D’Hanis turnovers.

Shelby Gayre and Mallory McCollum each scored seven points for D’Hanis (27-7), which hadn’t played in the state tournament since 1979.
