FORT MILL, S.C. (AP) - Demolition work has begun at the old Charlotte Knights baseball stadium in Fort Mill.

The Knights began playing in their new BB&T; Ballpark in Charlotte last season, setting attendance records.

The Herald of Rock Hill reports (https://bit.ly/1A0EaMr ) that Charlotte-based retailer Cato has said it plans to put a distribution center at the York County site.

Cato closed on the purchase last summer and has said the development cold include hotels, restaurants and housing.

York County Economic Development Director David Swenson said no final decisions have been made on the site.

The old stadium had been built in 1990 along Interstate 77 in northern York County.
