FRANKFORT, Ky. (AP) - A documentary profiling more than 40 Kentucky women and their achievements will be shown in four cities across the state in coming weeks.

The hour-long documentary is called “Dreamers & Doers: VOICES of Kentucky Women.” It’s based on the Kentucky Women Remembered exhibit displayed in the state Capitol.

The premiere showings are set for Frankfort, Louisville, Springfield and Lexington.

Eleanor Jordan, executive director of the Kentucky Commission on Women and executive producer of the documentary, says it’s a starting point for continuing research on the contributions of women.

The documentary provides insight into the role women have played in the state’s history, growth and development. It shows the impact women have had in science, literature, politics, arts, education, business, religion, athletics, entertainment and the military in Kentucky.
