SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (AP) - An independent film starring Tony Danza and the late Chris Penn will make its local debut in the upstate New York city that served as a location during filming nearly a decade ago.

The Saratogian reports (https://bit.ly/1zY5ZVA ) that “Aftermath” will be shown starting Friday at Bow Tie Criterion Cinema in downtown Saratoga Springs.

The dark comedy thriller was written, produced and filmed by Tom Farone of Saratoga Springs. Portions of the film were shot in the city in 2006 and ‘07.

The movie also stars Anthony Michael Hall as a successful construction company owner who hires hit men to search of a missing employee.

Penn, the brother of actor Sean Penn, died suddenly in early 2006. His death from an enlarged heart and other causes delayed the film’s completion. It finally premiered in 2013 in California.
