JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) - The Alaska Judicial Council is extending by one week the deadline for applications for an upcoming vacancy on the Anchorage Superior Court bench.

The council had originally set a March 16 deadline. It is now 3 p.m. on March 23.

The council is seeking applicants for the seat currently held by Judge Philip R. Volland, who plans to retire.
