GREENWICH, N.Y. (AP) - State police say one of their investigators is recovering from minor injuries suffered when his patrol car was hit by a vehicle operated by a man driving drunk on an upstate New York road.

Officials tell The Post-Star of Glens Falls (https://bit.ly/1Nk39mN ) that a 30-year-old man from Greenwich in Washington County was driving on a rural road in his hometown Tuesday evening when his pickup truck crossed into the oncoming lane on a curve and hit an unmarked state police car driven by Investigator Chris Lapham.

The driver of the pickup was charged with driving while intoxicated and issued traffic tickets. He and a woman riding with him weren’t injured.

Police say Lapham, who was off duty at the time, suffered a minor leg injury.
