HOUSTON, Miss. (AP) - State prosecutors say a nurse’s aide has been arrested after she used a patient’s debit card without permission for her own personal needs.

Attorney General Jim Hood says 30-year-old Roshanuan McFarland, of West Point, was arrested Tuesday when she turned herself into authorities in Lowndes County. A grand jury indicted her with exploitation of a vulnerable person.

The indictment alleges McFarland used a patient’s Social Security debit card to withdraw money from an ATM machine for her personal needs without permission from the patient.

McFarland posted a $5,000 bond. If convicted, she faces up to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
