CHICAGO (AP) - Chicago’s Shedd Aquarium is welcoming a new rescue dog.

Aquarium officials announced Wednesday the adoption of Kobe as the third member of its canine family.

Kobe is a three-year-old Dogo Argentino mix. He was found as a stray by Kendall Animal Control in 2013 and adopted by Lucky Dog Rescue.

Officials say the aquarium’s trainers will work with Kobe and care for the pup. Later this year, he’ll join the aquarium’s “One World” show, a celebration of the human connection to animals. For now, he will spend most of his time behind-the-scenes becoming acclimated to his new home.
