BISMARCK, N.D. (AP) - The chair of North Dakota’s Democratic party says he will not be seeking re-election.

Bob Valeu was elected as chairman of the state’s Democratic-NPL party in 2013.

Executive Director Chad Oban tells KXMB-TV (https://bit.ly/1KqYdOd ) that he credits Valeu with expanding the party’s donor base and working to elect new leadership.

Oban says the party’s policy committee will elect a new chairman on Saturday in Jamestown. They will also hold elections for Vice Chair, Secretary, Treasurer and regional representatives.

The chairman position is unpaid.
