TEXARKANA, Ark. (AP) - A Texarkana man has been sentenced to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty in the nonfatal shooting of his girlfriend.

The Texarkana Gazette (https://bit.ly/1M8Ae1D ) reports 31-year-old Antonio Donnell Black has pleaded guilty to attempted capital murder, kidnapping and aggravated assault.

According to a probable cause statement, Black shot the mother of his two children in May 2014. He was accused of shooting at the woman at least twice, with one of the bullets striking and paralyzing her at a parking lot.

Black drove away in a vehicle with the wounded woman inside. He left the car in a remote area in Miller County with the woman still inside.

She was airlifted to a hospital after Black was arrested near Fouke and told authorities where she was.
