NEW YORK (AP) - A major Jewish organization says Cardinal Edward Egan will be remembered for his “steadfast interfaith efforts.”

The Anti-Defamation League’s national director, Abraham Foxman, says Egan fostered harmony among New York’s diverse religious groups.

He says Egan was a “loyal friend of the Jewish community.”
