SAN ANTONIO (AP) - Cheyenne Brown scored 15 points and grabbed 15 rebounds and Martin’s Mill held off La Rue La Poynor’s fourth-quarter rally for a 36-33 victory Friday in the girls’ Class 2A state semifinals.

Martin’s Mill (30-7) held La Poynor (34-3) without a basket until the final minute of the first half to take a 17-7 lead. La Poynor trailed by 13 after three quarters but scored 18 in the fourth in a desperate bid to come back.

Haley Terry’s long 3-pointer with 7 seconds left pulled La Poynor within 35-33 before Brown made one of two free throws with 2 seconds left for the final margin.

Terry scored 14 points. Hailey Celsure had eight points and five rebounds for Martin’s Mill, which won the 1A Division 1 state title in 2013.
