CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) - Northwestern State coach Hugh Hernesman has been named Clemson’s women’s volleyball coach.

Athletic director Dan Radakovich announced Hernesman’s hiring Thursday.

Hernesman and wife Stephanie were co-coaches at Northwestern State and led the Lady Demons to the Southland Conference title and NCAA tournament this past fall. Northwestern State’s announcement about the Hernesmans departure said that Stephanie would an assistant coach at Clemson.

Hernesman said he will work to take Clemson to the next level in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

Hernesman takes over for Jolene Hoover, who resigned last month after 22 years at Clemson.
