ALEXANDRIA, La. (AP) - A private company is asking the Rapides Parish Police Jury to join some other government agencies in Louisiana in letting the organization handle the sale of adjudicated properties to collect delinquent taxes.

While there would be no cost to the Police Jury, the process would increase the cost to those buying the properties. In return, the company says the new owners would have clear titles, something they do not get now.

The Town Talk reports (https://townta.lk/1ANM62z ) Bryan Barrios, CEO of Archon Information Systems, made his proposal jurors during a committee meeting this week. Jurors did not take any action on his request for the parish to do business with the company.
