OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - A gang member, who was convicted of fatally stabbing a woman at an Oklahoma City bus station, has been sentenced to death.

Reports say an Oklahoma City jury recommended on Thursday that 25-year-old Isaiah Tryon be given the death penalty after he was convicted for the murder of 19-year-old Tia Bloomer.

Bloomer was stabbed repeatedly by Tryon inside the bus station on March 16, 2012, while she was on her way to file a protective order against him. Bloomer was the mother of Tryon’s child.

Prosecutors said the crime was heinous, atrocious or cruel, and the fact that he was on probation at the time warranted the death penalty.
