COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Police say four people have died following three crashes on central Ohio roadways.

Columbus police say the first crash occurred late Friday afternoon when a car went off an Interstate 270 overpass and landed on the road below. The driver was dead at the scene.

The second accident occurred just after 7 p.m. Friday when a vehicle crashed into a guardrail on a ramp from Interstate 670 to Interstate 71. Police say the driver, 27-year-old Eric Slone, and a passenger, whose name hasn’t been released, both died.

The third crash occurred around 9:30 Friday night when police say 55-year-old Julia Essig hit a man walking on Interstate 70. She fled the scene but was later arrested and charged. Police say the man, whose name hasn’t been released, died.
