MOUNT PILCHUCK STATE PARK, Wash. (AP) - A hiker who was injured while scrambling in Mt. Pilchuck State Park was rescued by a helicopter team that happened to be in the area for training.

The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office search and rescue team says they received reports at about noon on Saturday that a 20-year-old hiker had fallen while scrambling between Pinnacle Lake and Mt. Pilchuck. The hiker’s injuries were not severe, but they were bad enough to limit his mobility so he couldn’t leave the backcountry by foot.

The sheriff’s office says the helicopter team reached the man soon after and flew him to Taylor’s Landing where he was met by medical units.
