MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. (AP) - Authorities are working to identify human remains that were found in a wooded area in middle Georgia.
Baldwin County Sheriff Bill Massee told the Telegraph of Macon that a man searching for deer antlers found a human skull in Milledgeville - about 30 miles northeast of Macon.
Massee says when sheriff’s deputies and the Georgia Bureau of Investigation searched the area more bones from what is believed to be a male torso were discovered.
County Coroner John Gonzales told local media that investigators believe the remains may be those of a man who was reported missing in Milledgeville in 2007. The remains have not yet been identified.
