KALONA, Iowa (AP) - The trial of a Kalona man charged with vehicular homicide in the death of a teenage girl has been postponed until June.

Cedar Rapids television station KCRG reports (https://bit.ly/1EpMfkk ) that 28-year-old Jeffrey Bulechek’s trial had been scheduled to start March 17, but will now begin June 9.

He’s charged with homicide by vehicle while driving under the influence and serious injury by vehicle.

The Iowa State Patrol says Bulechek failed to yield at an intersection in Johnson County in December 2013, causing his truck to collide with a car carrying 15-year-old Brittany Hochstetler, of Grabill, Indiana, who died from her injuries. The driver of the car and another passenger in the car were hospitalized.

Police say Bulechek was drunk at the time of the crash.
